It's made in America
The brand new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck is American through and through. It got designed in the United States, and it's built over at Dearborn in Michigan, Ford's spiritual home.
Yes, it's possible to buy pickup trucks from other makes. But few can boast about being US-designed and built like the Ford F-150! The patriot in you will feel better supporting an American company and driving a car built by Americans for Americans!
There is a choice of four engines
In your search for
brand new Ford F150s, you may not have noticed that the new 2015 model comes with a choice of four motors:
- 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6. 325 horsepower, gas mileage of 22 mpg combined;
- 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. 365 horsepower, gas mileage of 20 mpg combined;
- 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6. 282 horsepower, gas mileage of 20 mpg combined; and
- 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8. 385 horsepower, gas mileage of 18 mpg combined.
All transmissions are automatic. You can opt for a standard 6-speed auto or a SelectShift dual-clutch variant.
There are five trim levels (six from 2017)
If you buy a new Ford F-150 pickup truck, you can select from one of five trim level options. There will be a sixth, the SVT Raptor, but that won't be available until 2017. All trim levels come with Ford's SYNC multimedia system so that you can hook up your smartphone to the car via
Bluetooth. They also come with a capless filler.
The XL comes with air conditioning, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and easy to clean vinyl seats. Next up is the XLT. With that, you get front fog lamps and cruise control. You also get an FM stereo and CD player as standard.
On the Lariat, you get a rear sliding window with privacy glass and defroster functionality. Dual zone climate control comes as standard. You also get steering wheel controls and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The sound system is upgraded to a SiriusXM satellite radio system, and the seats are covered in leather.
The King Ranch has a remote tailgate release, and a 110-volt inverter on the SuperCab and SuperCrew models. LED headlights and taillights come as standard, as does a reverse sensing system and a heated steering wheel.
Finally, we have the Platinum. Apart from a fully-flat load floor, you get a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Additionally, you also get power-adjustable pedals and wood interior trim accents.
