Not everyone wants to be a bodybuilder. Not every man in the world wishes to have rippling man pecs and a killer physique that would put Arnie to shame. You know what? That’s okay. But, many of us do want to lose a small amount of weight. After all, the beer gut is not something that any of us craves. If you are an average guy that is just looking to ditch those last few pounds, look no further. Help is at hand.

Adjust Your Mindset

Your mindset is one of the biggest things holding you back. Sorry to sound like a life coach at this point. But, if you are in the mentality of not going to the gym, partaking in exercise, and you’re living off Chinese food, you need to adjust your mindset. After all, getting into a positive way of thinking will make the losing weight journey easier to accomplish. So, repeat after me: “I will lose weight. I will be fit. I can do this”.

It’s Time to Say Goodbye to Beer and Other Forbidden Foods

The first thing that you have to do is to make a food diary. Be honest. You are only cheating yourself. Jot down everything that you consume over the course of the week. Include drinks, alcoholic and otherwise. Now, make a note of the exercise that you undertook that week. Can you see why you are not losing weight? The key is to move more and eat less. It’s that simple. So, if you are a little ashamed of what you have consumed this week, don’t be. Now is the time to ditch the beer, cider and lagers. Whatever your poison is cut it out for a month. Do a detox. Now, load your fridge with fruits, vegetables, lean meats and pulses. Opt for white meat over red. Sorry, it’s time to get rid of the steak. But, if you want to see fantastic, long term goals, it’s time to hone your eating. That means cutting out all of the fried foods that you may love and start eating fresh. Cooking homemade meals from scratch is not difficult. There is a world of easy to make, fresh recipes online. Take a look and get cooking. 1

Head to the Gym (Yes, Really!)

The gym is not a place to be fearful of. Rather, it should be embraced. You don’t have to start lifting weights when you first head in there. Use the best supplements for men to up your game. Combining supplements, with healthy eating and three exercise sessions as week, is the best way to see gradual weight loss. Aim to run on the treadmill for half hour per session. Make sure that you hit the rowing machine too. This is an excellent way to strengthen your arms. Remember, losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint. Stick to it, and you will see the difference. Losing weight is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. But, if you want to live longer, feel good and look good, it’s important that you do! Head to the gym, kick a ball around and go for a run. Eat properly. It’s not rocket science. But, it can help you lose weight in a safe and sustainable way.
